September 2020
Kirk Session has been busy working out a plan for a safe return to Church. We have been scrutinising the current guide lines from both the Stormont Executive and the General Council of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland.
We are required to adhere to the 2 metre distance rule (except for families) & seating will be controlled by the Elder on duty each Sunday. Masks are recommended but not mandatory, a ‘one way’ system will operate in the body of the Church. Contact details for ‘Track & Trace’ purposes will be requested, hand sanitizers will be provided, there may be no congregational singing and the service will be shorter than usual, about 35min.
A staggered leaving process will operate at the end of the service.
Please don’t forget in the middle of all this that we are still Church. Our Father God is still on the Throne, Jesus Christ is still raised from the dead, and the Holy Spirit is still actively teaching us and encouraging us and empowering us to be a blessing to friends and neighbours and to demonstrate the costly love of Christ.
As well as keeping in touch through Cairncastle’s and Whitehead’s Facebook pages and websites there are many other churches which will be providing Sunday worship and even daily thoughts for the day. Most of these can be accessed through the Churches website which can be googled. For example St Patricks will be doing a weekly service on Sundays.
We will pass on as much information as we can to you and you can keep in touch through your elder whose contact details you will see below. Get in touch and let them know your contact details as well and if you need anything please ask!
