The Congregational Committee consists of the members of the Kirk Session together with a specified number of persons elected to the Committee by the congregation. The Code of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland specifies the duties of the Congregational Committee as follows: “The duties of the Congregational Committee shall be to take care of the poor and administer the temporal affairs of the congregation.” (The Code, Para. 47(1)) The Committee has responsibility for the finances of the congregation, the property of the congregation, the regulation of the use of Church premises, the promotion of the interests of the Central Funds and Missions of the Church and such other functions as may be prescribed.

 

An election of Congregational Committee takes place every three years and the present Congregational Committee of Cairncastle Presbyterian is:
